Organic Land Care (OLC) is for land other than farms, farming uses different land care techniques for crop production.
The OLC standards were created decades ago by landscapers, for landscapers.
The OLC was paid for by a USDA Grant and is on its 6th edition.
OLC standards contains 68 pages of preferred, allowed and prohibited practices and products.
OLC standards are now being used across the country to manage public spaces including public parks.
Efforts in municipal settings are the coordinated by teams of local advocates, several non-profits and national sponsors.
