Safe and Healthy Soils Act (SAHSA)
A Two-Pronged Approach to Managing Public Lands
This act will create innovative, robust and restorative soil management practices which will lead to increased job opportunities; the preservation of soil as a renewable resource; reduce water usage expenditures, and both direct and indirect costs associated with toxic inputs.
SAHSA will galvanize the new (and wildly popular) emerging natural/organic/regenerative land care management sector, thereby authorizing the training of existing workers.
In turn, this will revitalize national innovation, thus providing a reassuring future for the American workforce.
Restoring our soil is a foundational element of a strong and secure nation.
“The best thing that you can do for climate is to restore the soil. The soil is the solution to everything. The soil will absorb all that carbon, and it will absorb the water, it will stop the flooding. It'll give us healthy food and that's what our national policy has to be.” - Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
This act will take a two-pronged approach to managing public lands in the most effective, non-toxic manner possible as a means to restoring our soil, mitigating pollution and improving the health of the United States.
Safe - curtailing toxic soil inputs and harmful cultural practices
Healthy - implementing strategies to rebuild the living biome and structure of our soil thus remediating and regenerating the soil.
